How to use stock photography websites

There are two ways to get images for your book. One is to purchase them from various stock photography websites. The other is to use your own photos and graphics for the book.

There are a variety of stock photography websites from which you can purchase images for your book. With a monthly subscription, you can download as many photos as you want, with others, you buy credits to download pictures.

All stock photography websites allow you to download a sample version, watermarked with the site’s logo. Once you see how the picture works in your layout, you can then purchase the actual image. You can also download pictures at differing sizes and resolutions. Of course, the higher the bigger and resolution, the more expensive the picture.

Examples of stock photography sites include:

  • Istockphoto.com (purchase with credits).
  • Dreamstime.com (purchase with credits).
  • Photos.com (time-based subscription where you can download as many pictures as possible within the time period)
